Challenges

Bins
• Money issues
• People might put the wrong thing in the wrong bin
• Damage to bins - kicked over

Wrapper free Wednesday
• Convincing people to do it
• Finding things that are wrapper free

Worm farm
• Keeping them moist
• People put the wrong thing in the compost bins
• People going in and taking out the worms

Opportunity - To promote in our school Classroom competitions - the winning class will receive a trophy and a certificate
• Inform others using posters and videos
• Workshops

What do we need?• Coloured bins
• More worm bins/ big worm farms
• Prizes
• Certificates
• Money
• People that say yes

  1. One of your challenges is 'finding things (to go in lunch boxes) that are wrapper free.' Imagine if every North Parmelia family gave one idea - you would have a whole book of wrapper free ideas!!

  2. What a great idea Inland to Ocean! Proceeds from the book could help fund future sustainability ideas or prizes for incentives. Have you considered using old fridges to make worm farms? Ask parents in the school newsletter if anyone has an old broken fridge they dont need. The Mindarie Regional Council have some great examples of fridge worm farms at their Education Centre.
