Jamie and his team from Riverside Primary School were really concerned to hear that 25% of things that could be recycled ended up in landfill.
His team said, "The problem is 25% of recycled rubbish is sent to landfill
when it could be remade into new things as what it was before. If we can recycle the 25% that is sent to the tip we can
slow down production and the cost for new things."
The challenge is to write to the Minister to get a meeting to discuss this issue and get approval and to find ways to reduce the
recycle rubbish that is being wasted.
Jamie said," After a few years when recycling gets big we could use some
spare money for replanting plants or help some country that are having a hard
time.We need government approval for this idea that our team has
created."
Love this idea Jamie and team. Trying to improve how we recycle is a great way to reduce what goes to landfill. We look forward to working with you soon. Regards Cat and MK Team
ReplyDeleteSo glad to hear your school and the Principal is supporting your idea. Cant wait to see you on 31st August for our first meeting.
ReplyDeleteIt is sad that up to 25% of the items in the recycle bin can end up in landfill because it doesnt belong or is dirty. It is fantastic that you are tackling this problem! We can all help to reduce this percentage.
